What This Knife Is Built For
The Ovis Scalpel 2.0 puts the Ovis Hunter handle behind a replaceable scalpel blade. It’s for hunters who want the clean edge of a scalpel blade and need more comfort and grip than an ultralight handle gives.

Why the Blade Geometry Matters
The handle is 6Al-4V aerospace-grade titanium with G10 grip surfaces, 5.75 in overall, with thumb jimping. It takes #60A and #70A scalpel blades, and seven ship with it: five #60A and two #70A. The titanium and G10 are the handle. The cutting edge is the replaceable blade.
Why Choose It
Choose it over the Mountain Scalpel when you want a larger, more comfortable grip. Choose it over the Ovis Hunter if you’d rather swap blades than sharpen them, and keep a fixed blade along for heavier work.

What Kestrel customers are saying

Being a professional guide and a son of a ranch butcher, I've skinned a lot of animals and a knife that can hold a sharp edge is a must. I've used many brands of knives and Kestrel Knives are the only one I've found that can hold a sharp edge the longest. I bought my first EDC about 3 years ago and skinned 2 elk and a 1,200 lbs buffalo with it so far and still haven't had to use my wet stone to resharpen it.

What a great knife. These are the lightest weight knives I’ve ever seen and truly a necessity for the backcountry hunter.

The trip was amazing, man. I live in northern BC, Fort Nelson, a couple hours’ drive and 5 of our horses. 20 km trip into base camp, and day rides from there. 9 days on horses, 180+ km between boots and horseback. On the 7th day I shot my ram.The knife was amazing. My dad had his Havalon and I had my Kestrel. His Havalon handle snapped on him, and we finished the caping with my Kestrel
